Reportage wedding photography - is one of the phrases I use when describing my approach to weddings (yes, I know, me and every other wedding photographer out there) - but being in the background and capturing moments as they happen in a journalistic style; is a very rewarding approach.

And looking through Deborah and Douglas' Crichton wedding photographs I think this really comes through - there are a host of perfect moments, unscripted, undirected, with the compositions falling into place, and gorgeous mid-summer light enriching the atmosphere.

We mixed in some posed portraits in the leafy surroundings of the Crichton Gardens, again in beautiful soft light, and finished off the day with a huge ceilidh in the Easterbrook Hall.

The Crichton Church and Easterbrook provided a fantastic backdrop‚ congratulations Deborah and Douglas - a gorgeous couple, in love, in the summer sun!

Deborah and Douglas were married on a beautiful July day, at the Crichton Church in the stunning surroundings of the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries. This was one of the hottest days of the year, and the sun gave a vibrant, etherial light throughout the day. This was a gorgeous wedding to photograph, and one of my all time favourites at the Crichton Church.
